Design Process

Consultation – We will schedule an initial consultation to discuss your garden, your requirements and preferences, and to tell you how we work.  Subsequently, we will provide you with a price quote for our design and installation work.

Site Survey – We will conduct a site survey to take into account the existing garden and fixtures, assess boundaries, and other measures required for the subsequent preparation of the garden design.

Sketches – Depending on your needs, we will prepare sketches outlining the proposed garden design.  This will serve as a discussion document outlining our ideas.  We will consider any adjustments you wish to make.

Master Plan – We will then prepare a Master Plan that incorporates any changes requested and an estimate for installation.  This document shows the scale, name, quantity, location and spacing of plants, trees and shrubs.  These are chosen to suit the soil and desired requirements of your garden.  The Master Plan also identifies hard landscaping elements and fixtures and other important details.

Project Installation – The client has several choices:  1) You can select us to construct the garden, 2) WILLOW can recommend contractors who regularly carry out our plan; or 3) the client can do the work.

Project Management – Although we primarily provide design services, we are experienced at working closely with landscape architects, designers and builders to provide landscape contracting and management.

Plant Sourcing – We can order and arrange for delivery of plants and assist with the installation.  If you are unfamiliar with the plants and materials, we can arrange a private consultation at a local nursery to help you with the selection process.  Because many of our clients do not have the time to visit area nursuries, we can provide digital photographs and send you electronic information about proposed plants and materials.

Maintenance – We will provide you with instructions and guidelines to help the client care for the new garden.  Alternatively, we can also maintain the garden for an additional fee.
